Mission: To promote the wise use and care of natural resources for the benefit of the citizens of Pickens County.

How We Operate: We take available technical, financial and educational resources and coordinate them to help the land user conserve soil, water and other natural resources.

EROSION: Reduce erosion on agricultural, silvicultural and urbanized lands by 1) working with livestock producers and grassland farmers to improve the quality and quantity of forages on their farms, 2) helping landowners and land users conserve the natural resources on land to improve water quality, and 3) assisting landowners, land users, developers and local leaders with programs which conserve and improve the condition of our natural resources.

WATER QUALITY: Improve water quality in District watersheds by reducing pollutants to acceptable standards and managing stormwater runoff and sedimentation.

EDUCATION: Provide conservation education to our citizens, schools, civic groups and other organizations to create awareness of the need for wise use of our natural resources and the importance of sustainable food and agricultural systems.

PUBLIC SERVICE: Provide permanent housing for our office and improved services by developing or enhancing partnerships and assuring timely assistance to all persons. All programs and services are offered on a nondiscriminatory basis without regard to race, color, disability, national origin, sex, age, religion, political belief, sexual orientation, marital or family status.
