Conservation Workshop for Teachers

Each June, the Greenville Conservation District conducts a week-long training session in conservation education for teachers.  The Pickens Conservation District sponsors Pickens County teachers who would like to attend this helpful workshop.

Conservation Teacher of the Year

A national event, the Pickens Conservation District locally participates in the Conservation Teacher of the Year contest.  Applications should be mailed to the District by each April for consideration.  The Pickens County winner will be submitted for the state award;  the state winner is then submitted for the national award.  Various awards and cash prizes are given.

Conservation Contests' Teacher Awards

The annual Conservation Poster and Essay Contests award various prizes to the winning students.  The Pickens Conservation District also honors their teachers at the annual Awards Banquet.
