Youth Workshop

Pickens Conservation District annually sponsors youth to attend a conservation workshop in environmental education.  This program exposes young people to careers in conservation, and as a true environmental study course, offers college scholarships and college credit to those passing the comprehensive final exam.  Since its inception, over 3,000 students have participated in this program, winning over $70,000 in scholarships.  The program is held on the Lander University campus in Greenwood.  Registration deadlines are usually in April for that year's June workshop.
